'GIN-SERIES PLAYING' In the former topic posting (started by the WebMaster) about this subject, I was about to capitulate that maybe playing series-matches until a 3 game advantage is reached is not very realistic because of the time demands. I would still like to 'Go FORWARD' with the concept and will entertain series-matches that are 2 out of 3 OR even better 3 out of 5. I will still only play 200/250 10 L and I will still only play these between 8am & 7pm. I will continue to be as selective as before in choosing whom I play these 'Best Out Of' matches with instead of opening it up to ANYONE as I was doing with the 'Games Ahead' concept. My dear ThinkorSwim - As you may know by now - I was trying to respond to your challenge when replies were (no-doubt justly) shut off. I ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE and now Lets Get Together and set a convenient time and amount. I propose 250 10 L, 3 out of 5, for 150 tics @ 11am, M-F. Waduyathink? This offer also applies to Wannabunch who I have begun to speak with about playing. On another thought - I propose that all serious players entertain playing these series-matches weather I am involved or not. OKI or REG, GINONLY or WHATEVER! Lets just get this going as a more fulfilling way to determine who is playing better on any given day. I really think this may be a precursor to even bigger & better things to come, but only if it is supported & reported. What I mean is - If anyone plays a series-match; PLEASE give some feedback here in the forum as to your pros & cons of the experience. I think it may help a lot! TY & GL

MY POSITION

Dear Thinkorswim - I will be happy to explain my situation. I am at the computer & or on the phone for 11 hours daily. My (28) Sales Reps are from Boston to LA so my day starts early and ends late. If you see me in the room after 6pm (cst) it is either (not me) OR me maybe playing in a relaxing tourney. Honestly, I start enjoying a few brewed products at or about 5:30 or 6pm and don't feel that I would be as sharp as I would like for a serious series-match. I choose to play my most serious matches from around 9am till 3:30pm. I would hope you could understand my position as I can understand your (& Menkmans) work schedule. WHY does this have to be about only ME playing a series-match? It sounds to me like you & Menkman both want to play a series-match after 7pm so Why Not Play Each Other ??? If you do - please leave feedback here in the forum about your pros & cons - It will go a long way in promoting and enhancing the GC experience, which can only be good for everyone. If you see me in the room on a weekend, maybe we could do a series-match then. Most of my weekends are filled with 'Honey-Do's & Bar-B-Ques', but sometimes I get in a game or two. (Hey, that rhymes) Seriously, Lets put a final stop to the negativity & personal attacks. I really don't have the time for it and I am finding it very boring and non-productive. I have agreed that the only feasible way for these series-matches to go forward is to play 2 out of 3 OR 3 out of 5 instead of what I really wanted and Zits (my Son) played with JimmyJoe. That was 3 AHEAD instead of a RACE to and the time element was a negative factor. However, now that were talking about only 'Race-Matches' & NOT 'Ahead-Matches' I will go back to being selective as to whom I choose to play. With 'Ahead-Matches', I was opening it up to All. As far as references to my Family & or Business, I would appreciate it if you guys would refrain from any negativity. ED_BLUE knows my (800)# and my Corporate Website address & info. While I know Ed would never divulge my private info - I would hope & think EVERYONE could & will believe it if Ed verifies it. BOTTOM LINE to all: You guys aren't going to effect or change me & I realize I'm not going to effect or change you! Lets all go forward and enjoy! TY & GL

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
