rating and ranking we do i start ? well i myself go for ratings, i guess u can say been there done that,i been on the ladder , to me its just a pain , gotta play this person that person u dont play him when he or she wants they moan and groan, when i go for ratings ,its easier to play with out the pressure , and i like the way a hi rating looks on me. and...... if we really b honest well mayb not all but most like a rating to b hi nobody likes playing a lower rating player in fear of loosing rating, but nobody notices the ranking all u c is rating, pro choice i guess, to me its harder to maintain a higher rating than rank, look at it this way 2 groups ladder and rating.what ever click ur in the comp is good, a non rated ladder vrs rating tourny would b intresting...but every one is differnt .. i no i sure am......i myself always check the ladder and the forum just to c whos the best player is and the rest on the top 20...... so sad to say us rating mungers r just that.... the people on the top 20 have us beat... sorry to say but true.. ladder players r harder to beat than rating mingers.(my opion only) been there done that o and boatman im ready if u wanna play my names jim now that we met mayb ull play a poor sab like me ?? ... I look at the ratings of players in the top 20 rungs of the ladder, and I see 15xx, 16xx ... So -- if these players are so good, then WHAT, pray tell, are they doing WRONG!?!?!?
Heh heh, Jes pullin' yer chain. I know the answer. The answer is the players at the top of the ladder are playing the ladder, and players with the top ratings are playing the ratings. An' each requires a different strategy.
The truth is, anyone in the top 20, or anyone with a rating over 2000, ain't no dummy when it comes to rummy.
But if we ever had a player who had the top rating and the top ranking at the same time, and held them both over a week, why THEN we'd have a player!

i road the ladder and kept the same rating for a week or so , but to b honest it was hard cuz like u said 2 groups, but u have to rember that was long ago when every 1 was tight and we were all friends so we played amungst r selves , its a double edged sword becuz ,i myself find ladder players (top 20) even top 50 r harder to bet than rating mungers like myself, but than again if i went for ladder stats i feel id b in the top 50 , id keep myself off the corpate ladder ( top 20) but i also love to play hi rating players ,and c just how hi i can get my rating so what im trying to say is this rating clan is smaller than ranking clan .......... so that means people with 1800 and over PLAY the same people day in and day out .. u no this and i no this ...... and as far as me i learn peps games after a few times playing them soooooo ......... take it from there i give top 20 props to me they r the top players, u need to b devoted to b top 20 i just love the game with out the man .. u no what im saying ? o well and another thing .. and u all no it. no 1 likes to throw kings!!!!!! but how long do u hold 2 of them ????? RAMP ps. boatman ill play ya to 200 for 5 just invite , itll take a while but ill earn them tickets !!!!!! ......... RAMP

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
