You should not be getting popups at all ...

No popup ads here at all -- and no external banner ads for $players either Ramp ...
If you are getting popups... this site has nothing to do with it. Please look for popups' source elsewhere : opening 'tricky' email, private installations / downloads from other sites, etc. Interactive ads are quite omnipresent & once you get them, they are quite hard to get rid of.
There are NO downloads from this site -- we use pure industry standard Java that interacts with your system only through Java Virtual Machine that (in most cases) is already installed on your system (by Microsoft or Sun Microsystems) The Java applet from this site operates in strict adherence to Java Virtual Machine requirements and by definition cannot access or modify files or other essential resources of your system.
This site at this time is NOT supported by external advertising either. Get a good popup blocker.

There are external ads out there that get triggered only when you visit a set of specific sites. These ads are designed to get displayed only when you visit a set of competing sites. It's a big business these days.
GC has no popup ads of its own and no external banner ads for $players.
Somewhere in your non-GC internet travels you got profiled and downloaded their spy-ware or ad-ware. Uninstall anything suspicious that you recently installed ('helpful' toolbars, etc.) and get that popup blocker!
try these tools Ramp

Look for Spybot Search & Destroy and then look for Spyware Blaster. The Spybot removes spyware installed on your pc and spyware blaster prevents anything else from being install.

I have norton anti-virus and norton internet security that stops all pop ups. I hear my mum complaining of rude ones popping up from nowhere!! Norton works for me, not free though!

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
