Quality Gin Matches ....

Thus far, all the chat focused on 'rudeness'. The subject has been beaten to death and the point must be made by now. I've thought about a better subject and I think I came up with one we can all talk about and that's the quality of matches isolated to certain players.

It seems as though a day doesn't pass that I don't have some matches I hope will never end. The quality of my opponents force me to bring my game up to their level of play and it's exciting. The ones I refer to are players that will take an inch and strectch it into a win if your not 150% certain to take advantage of every single opportunity. Miss one, one mistake, and you lose big.

I was thinking about naming the players I consider to be the very best on GC but the list immediatley grew to over 25 people. But to be an effective posting the players must be identified so that others will know who to play for a great match.

This list is limited to the matches I played today. Omissions of the greatest players are based solely on the fact that I didn't have the opportunity of matching with them today and include such greats as: Pegasus, Diablo, PTRN, McMolar, Wilpat, Sumdumdame, Superheart, Dosman, Menkman, Yankee Baseball, Antiqye and on and on. Those of you I've left out please forgive me; it wasn't intentional.

Back to the best matches today; most were 2/3.

My first matches started with Isito. He/she is known for taking every opportunity to bury his/her opponent and today was no exception. Always a great match.

The next matches were with a newcomer YOYO RATED. This woman is the next star.

Then came the great Tenuvus, pardon the spelling but you know who I mean. This man is a wonderful and incredibly worthy opponent who is always a delight to do battle with.

Cowboyric did his usual number on me during a tourney. He always brings me up three or four notches just to stay in the same game as him.

The night ended with a match with the famous THINKORSWIM. Always a war and a match of inches. I can't verbalize what a pleasure it is to do battle with this opponent. He certainly made my day.

The commonality of all those matches is it really doesn't matter who wins because you know you've been in a battle-royal with each of these players.

All of you know I play more than 5 matches a day. Okay, I did come across some of the 'ruder' players but I ended those matches quickly since I really don't want to waste my time or effort in dealing with them. What I do like to do is to whip them really badly and explain why I don't/won't give them a rematch. Discretion forbids me from naming these players although I'd love to.

How about some memorable matches you've played recently? Let us know about them so we can engage the best of the best and enjoy this great web-site as much as you do. This list will be a list of worthy opponents with a guaranteed 'run-for-your-money'. That doesn't always mean a 'cash game'.

Thanks for your reply. The person you met in Reno must have been from the wealthier side of the famili. I've been to Vegas and AC but never to Reno.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
