ok just a thought , when i newbie joins up to play on gc,what they frist notice r peoples ratings, not every 1 noes how to find the ladder and what the ladder even is,what im thinking is this,when u sighn in u c ur ladder ranking , but y not any1 eles? most people dont no by clicking ur name u find all this out, u have to play for a while ,so maby theres room for a colume posting ur ladder spot too,ya no ,like neear ur rating or sumthing, food for thought.........Ramp

Not only do the newbies not know about ladder rankings for a long time, those players who play for the ladder rankings would have something to look for. People have been saying that Rating is unimportant, which it is when considering skill (only represents hottness). Rating has its own column while not representing overall skill, while the ladder takes true skill to climb, it should carry the same weight or more than the rating does (i vote more). Lets add a ladder column....

According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
