Does It Really Hurt That Badly?

Sorry to be a broken record but I just finished playing 2/3 with a formidable opponent, I thought. The first match was no match at all and I won it handily.

The second match went the other way but it was much closer.

The RUBBER match was started with me saying 'GL' and hearing nothing from my opponent. I didn't think too much about it and we played on. We were playing for 25 tix a match. At that time I was rated 1,625 and my opponent was rated 1,580, although that doesn't mean too much.

The match got off to a horiible start. We were playing OKIE_150P_LD I was down 114 after, what everyone losing says, a few quick gins. The last hand was started at 135:141. I had the 135. The turn card was an ace and I smiled. We were on even ground and this was the last game if we didn't tie. We played to 6 cards left in the deck, maybe 10, and my opponent won. He left without saying a word....

Couldn't he at least say 'GG'? Rude players are here to stay....my campaign against them has been lost although I still enjoy playing with the better and friendlier players.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
