don’t fix it ………
I guess experience isn’t the best teacher. I just seen a noticeable change in the GC tourney format and I really can’t understand why they did it.
I regularly play the 8PM_150_REG_10T and the 11PM_200_OKIE_25T. I sometimes jump into the 4PM or any other tourney I’m around for but the tourney schedule has been changes.
That great 8PM spot is erratically scheduled with a different host every night. When Sam85 had it, it was an “institution” and when I had it, it was getting to “institutional” status. More importantly is that it drew the very best players every night. Case in point; tonight Sam85 ran the 8PM and it drew 13 players. I didn’t see it scheduled or the count would have been 14 players.
The 11PM_25T spot attracted regulars and sometimes got up to 10 players. That spot is now history.
I’m not complaining but would like to know what the other ‘regular’ players from those tourneys feel about this very dramatic change.

Well Ed, your questions were answered back on Oct. 3, and you were told then why the changes were made. I understand you're still upset about it, but 'We keep our ears and eyes open and due to an increased number of players wanting earlier HR we decided to experiment with an earlier time. This isn't set in stone and may change again.' When we started the HR at 11 0, it cancelled for quite awhile until it caught on. We figured a month was a good time span to try it out at 9 0, and then adjust if needed.
As for the 8 0, the 'schedule' hasn't been changed. It's an open slot, and since the td's have all been busy lately we're happy when as many slots get filled as possible. We do NOT assign them. Sam normally precreates the 8PM but due to circumstances in his life and that of his families life he often has to ask for a sub. When he requests a sub, of course, we always supply one for him. Sam is a good td, no better or worse than the others..but he has a busy life also apparently since he doesn't host much. Looking back on the rosters I keep, several other td's had great turnouts for that time slot. It's a good time, but for the same reason the td's haven't been able to do as many tourneys, the players have been busy also. I don't know how it is in other households, but sports are taking a lot of my husbands time, so I suppose some others are the same.
The 9 0 HR offered for $50 tickets on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and for $25 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will remain the same throughout October. We will then reevaluate what has occured and make changes as needed.
Please be patient Ed.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
