Fact or fiction ...Response to Ed ...Continued...

Ed, listen, the bottom line is you have a 60% gin player giving a 40% gin player constructive feedback. That''s all it is. Having played almost a thousand games on here has qualified me to do so, so please don't tell me that I havent played enough tournies on here. Based on the games we have played, the feedback i gave you is legit. You can take it and run with it, or you can just keep being facicious in your answers and not accept what I saw as constructive to help improve your game. I would understand if you'd get insulted that another player gives you suggestions, but like I said, we have played enough where I see your strengths and weaknesses and was only responding to your original post when you said another player called your play 'erratic'.

My comments about using only the games that 'count' is geared towards $$ games. By you saying 'I'd eliminate all the games I've lost and thus have a 100% rating''... what does that mean Ed?? That''s ridiculous. You too have a $$ record and those count on a grander scale than the ladder (who knows, maybe in your case they are similar). Obviously the $$ games are the best barometer for overall skill, b/c every single game is meaningful. That is why before you play someone, you check their $$ record and not their free games record.

LOL, you can easily admit Ed you agree that a $$ record should be weighted much higher than a ladder record. But if you actually did that, then... OH NO, that may actually make my feedback to you legit. Geez, I hope it's not a pride thing where you''re thinking someone who may not have been playing as long as you have has the NERVE to give ED suggestions! I surely hope that not''s the case. Like I said previously Ed, I respect you as a player and truely hope you can embrace the suggestions given in hopes of making you a better player. That's just up to you though.

Always a Pleasure, Never a Chore...Menk

this is a game, not a job. its for fun. why get all worked up over it? ive been on this site for years, and theres really no need to lose it over a game. granted i also dont have a terrific rating,b ut thats because i play EVERYONE who comes to my table, and my statistics are reflective of that.

why get worked up over something that should cause pleasure?

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
