But this has to be said. I think its great to recognize the effort put in by RLW and I personally wish him all the very best that can be given. I share in his accolades but.....

Once being a TD, I have a bit of an inside track on the hours, days, months and years other dedicated TDs have given to this wonderful web site. I'd mention names but you all know who I mean.

This accolade, though rightfully deserved, should be extended to those TDs we see every day for the past years. The one's that would rather play than host, at times, and put up with all our nonsense all the time.

Those are the saints of GC and they should be recognized by name.....

I'd do it but its' not my place....

Sorry for the 'cold-shower' but this had to be said. Believe it or not, this posting has been discussed in the Main Room and in the Tourneys.

For all it means, I ask the site owners to name the great people that make this site work. the only thing I gain by this request is for the real good one that have given up chunks of their lives to serve us, the players.

Well Ed.........

You're missing the point! Gr8 has the right attitude in his response concerning RLW.. this accolade had nothing to do with the other td's or anyone else including the admin. Just a recognition of getting 200 tourneys in such a short time. I know a few others have done this ..including Gr8, but haven't heard anything from him but positive. WTG Jerry!!

Of course as you said, some of us put hours in and host often instead of playing, which some would rather do....this is just a hands clap to a new young td who has worked very hard and as Gr8 has said, has dominoes going again which is something the rest of us gave up on.

We appreciate all the td's who extend themselves over and beyond the call of duty...the ones that work so hard get told how much we appreciate their efforts, and I can't believe they are the ones that 'talk about it in main and tourneys' The word for that is jealousy, and there is certainly none needed here. We're all grownups aren't we?

Just my thoughts

A Point of View

This is a response to Peg and Miss whatever you are. It seems if I say white, Peg says black but that's okay because we are friends. Why would anyone other than a TD reply to this posting other than to say 'JOB WELL DONE RLW'?

As a former TD, who took the job very seriously, I spent at least 2 hours on every tourney; one before and one after.

My comment was POSITIVE and it asked for the recognition of all the unhearalded TDs that spend an inordinate time doing this thing. See Peg, I was asking for something. That's gratitude. It won't happen again.

Miss.... whatever your name is, please don't think I'm a negative person. I was just trying to give praise where it would do the best good and that's with all the Tds. RLW is a wonderful person and deserves the kudos but so do others. If I offended you, I;m glad bevause its apparent you have no idea what I'm talking about nor do you have the insight to pass judgement about something you know so little about.

Sorry for trying to get the recognition for all the Tds that sincerely deserve it. If I'm wrong, then something is really wrong....

Good job RWL1971

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
