When a player disconnects - make 'Abort Game' an immediate option so we don't have to wait if we don't want to. Otherwise we lose ranking and waste time waiting.

We are against the competition that is based on whose connection is more stable.
In case one player loses connection, GameColony provides this player with the capability to reconnect without penalty to the same game. Reconnection without penalty has its limits -- the opponent will only have to wait a limited amount of time.
To reconnect, a disconnected player has to re-establish the Internet connection (may have to close/re-open the browser, re-dial ISP, etc.).
The number of allowed reconnections per game, the waiting time per single reconnection and the waiting time for all reconnections are limited.
sometimes it would be okay but,

if you had the option to abort a game as soon as your opponent was disconnected, then players who were losing badly would take advantage of that option to save from losing. that would not go over too well with me. i know that once a long time ago, someone i was playing was losing and i got disconnected and did not make it back in time. they aborted the game but at least i had a chance to get back.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
