Rockie, you and I have done 'battle' many times and I've never found you to be anything but a consumate professional and display all the amenities that every player should. I agree that the game is 'fun' but the operative is that it's a people place and without the people there is no game and hence no fun.

You have evry right to acknowledge or ignore any player and ant player has the right to doi the same thing to you. But, to generalize that acknowledging your opponent is not the right thing to do is wrong. The majority of players on GC do at least say 'Hi', 'GL' or even 'GG' and that is all that's needed to leave an opponent with a good feeling about you as a person and as a player.

Is is required? No. But it is nice.

I have a tendency to greet every opponent and hesitate for a few seconds to see if he or she responds. If they don't, I prefer not to play another match with them unless I win and give that person a chance to get their money back.

I do agree that it's a personal preference but there is a 'social thing' within the GC people.

BTW, I enjoy doing battle with you and you've always been great.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
