How about some changes in policy

As a long standing member of GC i find that lately many, many players that find themselves in the Top 10 are using the approach that less is more. By that I mean that more and more I am finding Top 10 players who are not playing ladder matches but rather ticket matches. When they are asked for a game, their response is always the same, I am waiting for so and so. Well, maybe now is the time to make some changes. I'm wondering if any of you out there feel the same way I do, that if you are a ticket player, then all ticket games should be ladder matches. It's bad enough that you have to go through formal challenges to get some players to play you even as they sit idle for hours. Lets get this ladder back on track and force the top guys and girls to play ladder matches all the time. Let me know how you feel about this. Thanks and gl2 all.

My first reaction is mixed but after reading your entire posting I smiled and fully agree with you. The LADDER thing is not as bad as the players p[laying for rating that will only play 'non-rated' games with 'lesser' players that may beat them but it is a very valid point.

I was away from GC for over a monbth due to surgery and when I came back my Ladder rating was 1473. I was able to get it back to 29 but realized that the higher rated players were not posting Ladder games.

In my experience with GC, I found they are always very fair and I think your request is valid. I hope other players will support it.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
