WOW.... Long post
I liked a few points you made...especially about slow players and dialups which I happen to be stuck with. Sometimes I am so irritated when I can't play fast and sometimes embarrassed since I am a very fast player when my computer allows it. Most understand the problem though and I'm grateful for that!
The other point I especially liked was the statement that politeness cannot be enforced and you also gave many reasons other than rudeness for players not joining in on chat.
I did not agree with your take on the BAN button though. It continues to be a frustration to me. I see no good reason for it being there, since the ability to set private tables should negate it's use.
Thank you for your post and GG Gl and all that stuff in your future games
TY Charlie

Thanks Charlie, My post was much too long and maybe too harsh, but I feel some of those things needed to be said. The forum should be a place where we can freely discuss everything, share information and really better the site. I have never used the BAN button myself, not even noticed where it is. I rarely set a table and when I do, I forget to look for it, but I am of the opinion that if it is there then it must have some purpose. I would like the Webmaster to tell us why it was installed; then we could make more specific comments about it.
The reasoning behind the 'ban' button...

The 'Ban' button, unfortunately, needs to exist. Imagine a situation when (with the absence of the 'BAN' button) Player A does not want to keep a table private but does not want to play only with Player B. Player B may be someone who harrasses Player A even without attempting to play e.g., preventing other players from joining the table. Or Player B just wants Player A to keep playing with him at infinitum...

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
