Hello GC and all those interested. i notice that if a player does not play within so many days all his records are erased form the ladder records. some players names still stand after 400 days but others are gone after 50 or 60. I assume that the longer days names would disappear when they played again becasue that would be the only explanantion for there names remaining. However, in the 5 years of existence of GC, some people have established themselves with outstanding records such as Gramps in crib and goombah in gin. I would like to see GC reward these players by making records permanent if the players have played in at least 50 tournaments as they have spent a lot of money entering tournaments. This would reward and thank people who play in tournaments leaving some great records to strive for for other players. Anyone may not be around for long for age or other reasons so it would be a nice gesture and long lasting gesture to reward people who supported your tournaments or played over 1000 ladder games. the other permanent records that also come back when the player logs on after a lengthy absence would also be a great reward and entice players to play more to advane in teh 'all-time' top players list. don't lose those that set the standards. Something worth rewarding.
Thank You.

Any other opinions from players or GC. It's a matter of programming the essential information to allow records to stand. Pick a reasonable minimum and these archives would be incentive targets for some and maybe many players. Would like your opinion.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
