Yup, I played in the first qualifying round and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the players. I thought the first 25 Tix tourney would be ovetrflowing ut only eight showed up. To be honest, any one of us could have won.

My first bracket match was with the person I call 'My Teacher' and she was the very first person to tell me why I was losing. She was right on the money. The problem is she taught me too well and I was able to get past her.

I then came up against Wannabunch. We've played many times before and I knew that Okie is his game, not refular Gin. He even mentioned this to me as we started out match. I took advantage of that knowledge and built a 144 point lead on him and then he did it like no other person in GC can do it. One hand after another. We ended up 169:166 and it could have gone either way. As you know, he won bug both of my matches were totally enjoyable.

I guess Wannabunch is a very quick learner because he went on to defeat one of the very best players to get that first seat.

What I am saying is that the competition was great, the way it should be in a tourney of this magnitude.

I'll finish by wishing Wannabunch the best luck to go all the way although we know he has the talent to do it on his own.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
