Just a small observation here. I have been on this site a long time and have seen a lot in my time. The last two weeks have seen the most action ever between the top 10 players as far as I am concerned. That being said, it now comes the time when two of everyones 'favorite' people have gained joint entry to the top ten and now lo and behold the same old garbage begins. These two rarely if ever play an up game with someone below them and are always popping in and out of the site to try and jump an up game themselves. Come on guys and gals, we all know who they are so I ask you all this question. WHY DO WE PLAY THOSE WHO WON'T PLAY US? Just a thought...thanks for the thought.

Your statement is a bit too general and I'm certain that most of the people in the top 10, including you, play all the time with any player whom they think they can have a good match. The one difference in my play is that I try and play ONLY ladder games and even ask people to check the Ladder box specifically to give others the chance to get to the top. You and I played many times and the matches were always good. I doubt any one of us, including you, would bypass a chance to play any match that they think is a good match.
There is a rule stating that players in the top ten cannot play other players within 8 rungs of them within 24 hours and have Ladder implications. I was told the system, switches off the Ladder option if any two in the top ten do go one-on-one within 24 hours. I know this option works because it caught me playing one-on-one and the match was disallowed within the Ladder. The only exception to this rule is tourney play since you don't have an option of who your opponent is in a tourney.
I know 'the way it used to be' and I specifically stayed away from the ladder because of not being able to get into that niche and play the top ten players. That is not an issue anymore.
As a friend I ask you to bring this issue up with CONTACT US and don't give the world the idea that Ladder play is inflexible because it's not. Under the current rules it's almost impossible to abuse the system or even accidently abuse the system in the manner you stated.
This response is not a criticism of you since I know you're not referring to me but is just for clarification of the issue.

WHY WONT THE TOP PLAYERS PLAT SOMEONE LOWER THEN THEM. IF THEY ONLY PLAY EACH OTHER THEY WILL REMAIN ON TOP. THATS NOT FAIR

Trixter...i agree and know exactly what you are talking about...at first I got angry..and now I find it rather amusing. You have always played anyone who has asked as have I and I will continue to do so because I am not afraid of losing rank and the way i look at it now is that those who wont play or pop in and out or leave when a top ten player comes in...well I guess they dont have much confidence in their game...I am tired of trying to figure it out but wont become one of those players and thanks for all of the good games we have played..
Nice to see some honest people

Moomster, I was thrilled to see the responses are finally starting to come in from the 'quality' players. I too respect the way you play and the open opportunities you have given others to move up the ladder. It is a pleasure to find you on and play a game or two with you and it is especially nice to have someone apologize that they were away and didn't get the invite when it was delivered. It seems that too many of the 'TOP' players have screens that apparently can't see the invites. Anyway, always an open invitation to you Moomster for any game any time...you are a class act and I respect that as well as your ability.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
