Ladder play.....

This is the first time in over a year that I decided to play the Ladder route of competition. The word dynamic isn't strong enough to describe the action of this month's play. The rule changes by GC have added another level within the Ladder to compete and the positions shift not only every day but every hour.
I missed a full day this past weekend and fell 15 rungs on the Ladder. It's hard to maintain your position but its also a lot of fun scrambling with the other leaders. I've also made it a point to continue to play every challenger as long as we play a 'Ladder' match and it's for 5tix or more.
The last remark is for those that I may have alienated when I ask them to raise the tix to 5. The reason is the rule that all Ladder matches of 5 tix or over receive credit which ultimately builds to a one rung jump every thirty points. This has become a fun month for me.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!.
According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
