Tourney Rules

I am curious to know the rule on whether or not if you are not in the tourney room when it starts...do you get outed? I know that twice i did not make it because of technical problems and I was outed...yet other times the TD's have waited for some people and other times people have come in late and it is ok...do the rules pertain to the TD's or are they overall rules? I think that if they aren't overall rules they should be. I dont think it is fair for some to out you and some to wait around for players. I am just confused on the ruling .... can someone help?

At this point in time it is strictly a TD decision whether or not to 'out' those not in the tourney room at time to start.

I agree that the TDs that do 'out' should do it on a regular basis and not randomly. They should also advertise the fact that those not in room will be outted if that is their choice. But until or if it becomes a directive it is up to the individual TDs to make the choice.

Hope this helps. The best answer is to be in the room before start of course, so best not to wait until time for tourney to find out you're having a problem getting in.

Happy gaming

The only loss in being outted is not being able to play in one tourney. Several people waiting for an MIA player, who may or may not ever show up, for the full 10 minute time limit, holds up the whole tournament. So we respectfully request that all players who want to play, be in the room by the appointed start time.

When a player is outted the bracket is correct and the outted player is refunded their entry immediately.

Same old story.....

Once again we visit this same old problem. My dear friend Moomster, you need to understand a few basics here on GC. First and foremost is that it is a business and is run as such. Therefore, the more that play, the more that pay. GC will never establish a hard rule to limit the time a TD must wait before they out someone. However, and I believe it is a huge however. Something must be done about the same players who believe they have a right to be fashionably late for every and i do mean every tournament. Something needs to be addressed with these 'Super' players as 'Sum' of us are always on time. It is about time that GC change their rules and take the tix from players who are outted due to lateness. I am not talking about the ones that start and get booted but the ones who show up late all the time. Guess what GC, its not fair to the rest of us.

At GameColony.com you can play games of skill only -- play for free or play for $prizes!. According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!).   The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
