Why do so many players "run" at the end of a game or a number of games, without having the manners to say goodbye? Most are happy to welcome other players, often "chatting" during the game. They would normally know when it's their last game, so why play it out without a short message, eg "last game for me"????? How about a few pointers towards basic etiquette for new players to use on the site???

This problem has been brought up many, many times since the site began. While it is pleasant to be greeted with a "hi gl" etc, some just don't see the necessity. They are there to play, and apparently never give a thought to someone actually being on the other end. (Or just don't care) It's like they are playing the computer instead of another "real" person. :) Personally it doesn't bother me. I never fail to greet my opponent, and at the end some sort of message, depending on the game. I NEVER say "gg" for instance if I've skunked my opponent, but maybe a "sorry for the bad cards..better luck next time" But if I get no response it's ok, and not worth agonizing about. Also another "personal" feeling and maybe not shared by others...I prefer NOT to chat during the game, but concentrate on the cards, doms or whatever. But if I get an opponent that likes to chat while playing I'm not rude to them either. I was brought up with the lesson there is never an excuse for being rude, and I try to remember that always. Basically it's just common sense as to how to react. I enjoy the games very much - and this wonderful GameColony site...hope the rest of you do too!!
