The last show was called Goodbye, Farewell and Amen, and became the most-watched program in television history at the time, with a 60.3 rating and a 77 percent share. Or in other words, 60 percent of the TVs turned on that night were watching the show. This equates to about 125 million people. The show -- about the fictitious United States 4077th Mobil Army Surgical Hospital stationed in Korea during the Korean War -- was one of the most popular syndicated series of all time. |
