Opinions on ranking system/ladder ranking Posted by goatsmell (VIP) May 27 2022 5:04PM The ranking system on this site is very Wonky. There are players who arenât .500 that are ranked 2400? I have no idea how the ladder rankings are calculated? I never seem to be in the top 500 and thereâs roughly only 85-110 players on at one time. If anyone would like to chime in Iâd appreciate it. When you you first make an account you gain 50points every time you win. If you start off by jumping to 1900 for example the. You only play players who have similar or higher rating you can make yourself look like a strong played even though your not. The best players are the ones who play for tickets. There are hundreds of posts on the cribbage forum as well as backgammon forum. Or you can click on ladder and learn the rules. Most VIP players could care less about ratings points. As ZNWV points out, they can be manipulated and ultimately are not a measure of a player's ability. Play for fun. Play for Tix or play for Ladder position. Ignore rating points. You can review 20 years' worth of discussions about this topic on most of the forums. |
