How accurate are these ratings really?

How accurate are these ratings really?

I have a friend who plays here and he believes a 1800 player on this site is stronger then a USCF 1800 player. I was just wondering are these ratings an accurate reflections of ones true strength or weakness?

:) i do not consider myself a 2000+ player, although i had 2208. I am just fast on the mouse and quite good at predicting. But time often plays an important role. When it comes to good old without-a-clock-chess, i'm probably 1600.
