On Wednesday, Apr 1 at 8PM Eastern Time we are having a FREE-for-all backgammon tournament paying 10 Tickets to winners! Apr 1 8PM Mahjong Tournament is FREE for all registered players - Ticket players and non-Ticket players. In the tournament, a Tournament Director will help instruct new players on how to properly set the game table, and also will go over tourney rules and answer any questions new players might have. And to make this EVEN BETTER, the winners of the tourney will get 10 Tickets. We know there are a lot of players out there who have never had the chance to experience the thrill of tourney play and this will give all of you the opportunity to learn, play and possibly win some extra tickets! Please note that there is a limit of 40 players so if you want to join, please sign up early and be sure to be in the tourney room 10 minutes prior to start so we can go over what needs to be covered. We hope to see you there! If you use android or iOS, once you are in the game room, select Menu -> Tournaments and within 24 hours of the tournament you will see a FREE 8PM tournament listed. Select it and then choose a Sign-up button - you will see yourself listed among other participants. Come back to the same tournament on 10 min before it starts and you'll be able to 'Enter' the Tournament room. Our multiplayer mahjong or "Red Mahjong" supports Hong Kong, Riichi and Red Mahjong variations. Red Mahjong is a fun and easy game to learn - and our auto-training bots in the Main Hall stand ready to teach you - you could become an expert in 5 min! In all multiplayer mahjong variations, you pick-and-discard tiles (like cards in gin) and you make valuable hands as in cribbage and poker. In the Main Lobby of Red Mahjong, you can play with real players as well as with the training bots supporting Hong Kong, Japanese Riichi and (the simplest) Red Mahjong variations of multiplayer mahjong. All training bots are easily identifiable, and their description contain the exact algorithm of their play. In addition to the web browser-based Multiplayer mahjong, we also have mobile multiplayer mahjong apps for (iPhone/ipad/Android) phones and tablets. You can scan and install Red Mahjong for iOS and Red Mahjong GC for Android from images at the end of this post. Red Mahjong promotion video Video Tutorial for Red Mahjong Variation Hong Kong Mahjong Rules Riichi Mahjong Rules Hong Kong and Riichi variations are for 4 players while Red Mahjong is for 2 or 4 players. In the Main Hall, for 4-player variations you can elect to play either of the following: (1) All real players (2) 3 real players and 1 training bot (3) 2 real players and 2 training bots (4) 1 real player and 3 training bots For a 2-player variation of Red Mahjong, in the Main Hall, you can elect to play with the single real player or with a training bot. PLEASE NOTE: in multiplayer mahjong the timer is absolute: if a player did not make a timely move (and the default move is as low as 7 seconds per move!), the default pick-and-discard move will be made by the game itself!! Which also means that if one player has disconnected, during the disconnection the game is still proceeding with default pick-and-discard moves made for a disconnected player! The main reason for the above default behavior: (*) mahjong is traditionally expected to be played fast A few of the interesting features of the game: (a) you can switch from 2D to 3D table view and back (b) you can zoom and un-zoom the view You can scan and install Red Mahjong apps via QR codes for mobile apps below. Red Mahjong for iOS: Red Mahjong GC for Android:
