patience pretty please! Posted by utahma (TD) Jul 24 2006 5:42PM I hope you experienced pool players will exhibit some patience with those of us who are still learning, both Tourney Directors AND new players in tourneys. I had a player in a pool tourney today who was having some trouble getting a handle on shooting and such, and unfortunately this was MY second pool tourney (I've only played a handful of times myself). So obviously I couldn't tell him very much more than he was figuring out. I wish my players would have been a little more patient with myself and this newbie - I know it isn't much fun to have to wait, but it REALLY sucks the fun out of everyone when the pressure starts......I promise all of you I will play a few games before I try to host again, then I'll have a better handle on the technique. But it would help soooo much that instead of packing up and leaving, if you could please either be patient or offer YOUR help or advice! We're all learning here! You'll be seeing me again, no worries.....I just hope we didn't scare off our new player......that wasn't very nice. And I'm sure that others didn't have patience with you...so pass along some good traits and maybe some tips too....after all we all have a beginning.
