why Posted by texasroseIII (VIP) Aug 5 2006 9:21AM why have a time limit, that goes past the time (i.e. time is up, yet the game is not over, and I have to wait another min) What's the purpose of playing a timed game then? When time is up, game is over, not 30 seconds, not a minute later. TIME is up. when time expires Posted by webmaster (moderator) Aug 5 2006 10:12AM There are 2 issues here: (1) The times that you see displayed are your local time-related - this is for your reference only. The real time spent is determined by the server. At times when connection from your location to GameColony servers is slow, there is a visible difference in local time spent & server time spent. (2) For the first 3 times after time-per-move expires, the player who let his/her time-per-move expire keeps receiving warnings. During these 3 times this player, however, gets some additional time. After the 3rd time-per-move expiration, no additional time is given. Occasionally, however, it may take up to additional 15 seconds on the part of the server to act regarding time-per-move expiration. |
